Azriel: The Angel Chronicles - by Mark D. Chevalier - What would you do if one day you discovered that you weren’t always human? How would you react, knowing that God had punished you? How would you reconcile yourself with the knowledge that you had been friends with the Devil himself before the Great War in Heaven? On his thirtieth birthday, in the company of his beloved sister and her twin boys, that is the challenge that Scott LeClair faces. He must give up all that he has come to love and carry out the will of his Master. Or join the Devil, whose ancient name is Abaddon, and become one of God’s accusers. Abaddon, banished to the realm of Earth, senses his old ally’s presence, and his connection to a beautiful psychiatrist named Elisabeth Hamilton. Knowing that Scott is Azriel, a powerful angel from the order of the Ophaniam, Abaddon plots to coerce the angel-as-man to join him.*

Mark is my DB-I-L and I have a copy of his first book. Kaye Trout (Kaye Trout's Book Reviews) reviewed Mark's book and said, "Mark D. Chevalier is a uniquely dynamic writer…his writing talents are clearly evident."* and I must say, "Well said Kaye."

Mark gave me a signed copy of his book on a recent visit and I attempted to start reading it that night after he and my sis left. I read for about three hours and finally gave up. It wasn't because I was bored, it was because I'd had a long day without much sleep from the night before. I got up early the next morning to start in on the book once again and I finished it that evening. I really enjoyed reading this book.

The story made me stop and think several times and question my own beliefs and ideas about Heaven, Hell, Angels, God, the Devil, etc. That's a good book; One that can make me stop and re-think my own ideas about life.

I can see one, maybe two more books carrying on this first story, even though it had an ending of its own. Now I can only hope Mark is thinking the same thing as I and will write a sequel or a trilogy. I'll keep my fingers crossed. :-)

Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins are my favorite team and the Dolphins Cheerleaders are my favorite cheerleaders (of course ;-)). I was born and raised in Florida and watched my first football game with my Grandpa, William E. Ford, in 1972. My son, Andrew, also likes the Dolphins. Good boy! ;-)
